Manuscript volume containing passages of prose and 48 poems and dramatic verses. The prose, with the exception of the introduction, appears in North's posthumous work, Light in the Way to Paradise (1682) and concerns primarily philosophical and religious topics. The poems include love poems, a riddle, classical allegories, and religious and reflective poems. Most of the poetry is unpublished. Many of the love poems are addressed to Selena or Serena. The manuscript in written in the hand of North's wife Anne Montagu North and bears the bookplate of the Earl of Guilford (North's descendant). "Works of Dudley, Lord North, Son of Dudley, Lord North" is written on the first page.
